Well this is a turn up - business with the Public Sector with alcohol - great combination! What a great afternoon yesterday - we shared wine, canapés and business was openly discussed and near future opportunities revealed...

Ways2win are sponsoring Procurement Connection events across the UK. This is a brand new venture for us and it's very exciting. We're getting leaflets designed and everything!

The event kicked off with a 'VIP reception' - that's us apparently - very important. Because we are sponsors we got to meet the Public Sector Buyers (10 of them in total) over wine and canapés. (Have I mentioned that there was wine and canapés)?

Anyway, we schmoozed for a good hour, and made some great new contacts.

Then the delegates arrived for round two. After registering we had some great and insightful presentations from the Public Sector Buyers (did I mention that we had met them previously at the VIP reception with wine and canapés)? These covered all aspects of tendering, but more importantly (even for us, and we write loads of them) gave us a great window into their needs and expectations, so that when we come to write for them on behalf of our clients we have a great idea about their needs and how we can tailor our responses to help them make the right choices.

And if that wasn't enough...

There was then more schmoozing. I think the technical term is networking. And guess what? More wine and canapés!

All in all this was a great event, we have made some fantastic new contacts, and we are looking forward to starting work in the next couple of weeks with at least one new client. Doesn't get much better than that! (Oh yeah - did I mention? There was wine and canapés....)

We are all looking forward to the next Procurement Connection event very much - it's in Exeter on the 13th October, and we are also hosting the 'Meet the Buyer' stand at Business Southwest 2011 just before the Procurement Connection event.
